The Mission of the Huntley Fire Protection
District is to safely provide emergency medical
services, fire suppression, fire prevention and
public education to save lives, reduce injuries
and protect property .

District Information

The Huntley Fire Protection District (HFPD) encompasses an area of fifty-five (55) square miles. Our boundaries include the Village of Huntley, portions of the Village of Algonquin, Hampshire, and Lake in the Hills, unincorporated areas in both Kane and McHenry Counties, along with a nine-mile section of the Illinois Tollway (Interstate 90).

District Operations

HFPD presently has fifty-six (56) full time members, along with twenty five (25) part time members. The department is staffed by a Chief, 2- Deputy Chief's, Fire Marshal, Director of Training and Safety, three Battalion Chiefs and nine Lieutenants operating under an elected Board of Trustees.

Recently the Huntley Fire Protection District responded to a fire involving a GE model Dishwasher, which the Fire Marshal’s Office discovered is under recall. The date of manufacture varies by model.
Many of these appliances are currently in homes that have been constructed in the Fire District. If you believe your dishwasher may be part of this recall it is suggested that you contact GE directly
at 1-877-607-6395 with any questions or concerns. If you have computer access you can go to the following website and enter your model & serial number and see a list of recalled units and what to do.
